How does Dubai take care of ecology and sustainable development?
Despite the city’s reputation for high resource consumption, Dubai is actively implementing green initiatives. I visited The Sustainable City, a district fully designed with sustainability principles in mind. It utilizes renewable energy sources, a waste recycling system, and water conservation measures. The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park is one of the largest in the world and demonstrates the city’s commitment to clean energy. Campaigns are also being conducted to reduce plastic usage and conserve biodiversity, especially in marine ecosystems. During my visit to Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary, I learned about programs to protect mangrove forests and rare bird species. These efforts show that Dubai takes its impact on the environment seriously.

Dubai offers many opportunities for learning Arabic. I signed up for courses at Eton Institute, where classes are held in small groups with experienced teachers. The program was flexible, which is convenient for tourists and busy people. Other language centers, such as the Arabic Language Centre and Berlitz, also offer various levels of instruction — from beginner to advanced. Learning the language helped me better understand the culture and communicate with locals, enriching my experience in Dubai.

Go to question pageDubai is a platform for those who are looking for adrenaline and unusual experiences. One of the most exciting adventures for me was the desert safari. Imagine: you are racing in an SUV over endless dunes, sand is flying up in fountains around, and your heart is beating in time with the roaring engine. After a crazy race, dinner was waiting for us in a Bedouin camp under the stars, with belly dancing and fragrant barbecue. Fans of heights can go on "skydiving" over the "Palm Jumeirah" — an artificial island in the shape of a palm tree. I still remember the feeling of free fall and the breathtaking view of the city and the sea merging on the horizon. Water activities are also impressive: from "kitesurfing" at Kite Beach to "diving" among coral reefs and sunken ships.
Go to question pageDubai attracts businesses and investors due to the absence of personal income tax and corporate tax for most companies. This makes the city appealing to professionals and entrepreneurs. I spoke with expats who noted that the lack of income tax allows them to keep more of their earnings. However, since 2018, a 5% VAT (Value Added Tax) has been introduced on most goods and services. This step is aimed at diversifying government revenue. The overall tax system is transparent and streamlined, which facilitates doing business and stimulates economic activity.

Go to question pageHealthcare in Dubai is considered one of the best in the region. It operates both public and private clinics, equipped with modern equipment and highly qualified personnel. I visited Dubai Healthcare City, a special zone that houses medical institutions, research centers, and educational institutions. Health insurance is mandatory for all residents, and many employers provide policies for their employees. Tourists can also receive medical care, but it is recommended to have international health insurance. I was impressed by the efficiency and professionalism of local doctors, which gives confidence in case of need.

Go to question pageRefueling of yachts is carried out in specially equipped places called marinas and yacht clubs. Here are the main ways and places where you can refuel a yacht: Marinas and yacht clubs Marinas and yacht clubs are specially equipped harbors for yachts and boats, where various services are provided, including refueling. In such places, there are usually fuel stations with diesel and gasoline. Examples of popular marinas: - Port Hercule in Monaco - Marina del Rey in California - Dubai Mina Seyah (Dubai Mina Seyahi) Commercial port gas stations Some commercial ports also offer refueling services for yachts. These ports can serve both large commercial vessels and private yachts. Examples: - Port of Valencia (Port of Valencia, Spain) - Port of Hamburg (Port of Hamburg, Germany) Floating gas stations In some areas, there are floating gas stations that can sail up to the yacht for refueling. This is convenient in remote or less equipped places where there are no stationary fuel stations. Refueling ships In large yachting regions such as the Caribbean or the Mediterranean, there are refueling ships that can deliver fuel directly to a yacht anchored or sailing. Self-refueling For small yachts and boats that use gasoline, it is possible to refuel using cans. This is a less convenient, but sometimes necessary method in remote locations. Examples of marinas with gas stations: Porto Montenegro (Montenegro): offers a full range of yacht services, including refueling. Port Vauban (Antibes, France): one of the largest marinas in the Mediterranean with extensive refueling facilities. Marina di Porto Cervo (Sardinia, Italy): Popular among superyacht owners, it offers high-quality services and fuel. Refueling a yacht requires planning and taking into account the availability of fuel stations on the sailing route, especially in remote and hard-to-reach places.
