Here I felt like I was in the center of a cosmopolitan world where cultures and languages meet. Deira is the opposite of Marina, an old shopping district with narrow streets and markets. Wandering through the gold market, I was amazed at the brilliance and abundance of jewelry, and at the spice market, the aromas of cinnamon, saffron and cardamom turned my head. Al Fahidi is a historic district with traditional architecture, where you can feel the spirit of old Dubai. Walking through its quiet streets, I found art galleries, museums and cozy courtyards with fountains.

Dubai is not only a city of skyscrapers and deserts, but also a place where you can immerse yourself in a world of luxury and relaxation. One of the most impressive resorts I visited was One&Only The Palm. Located at the edge of the Palm Jumeirah, this oasis of tranquility offers panoramic views of the cityscape and the Persian Gulf. In their Guerlain Spa, I experienced exquisite treatments combining traditional techniques with modern methods.

Preparing a yacht for winter storage includes several key steps: Cleaning and inspection: Thoroughly wash the hull and deck of the yacht, remove algae and dirt. Inspect the housing for damage and cracks. Engine preservation: Replace the oil and filters, rinse the cooling system with fresh water and add anti-corrosion additives. Close the intake and exhaust ports of the engine. Water supply systems: Empty all water tanks, flush the systems with fresh water and add antifreeze to prevent freezing. Electrical systems: Disconnect the batteries, charge them completely and store them in a dry place. Check and protect all electrical connections. Sails and rigging: Remove the sails, rinse them with fresh water and store them in a dry place. Check the rigging for wear and damage. Interior: Clean and ventilate the interior, remove all textiles and food. Use dehumidifiers to prevent mold. Cover: Use a protective cover or awning to protect the yacht from weather conditions. Make sure that the cover is well secured and allows air to circulate.

Walking along the Dubai Mall, you can get lost among more than 1,200 shops, and then suddenly stumble upon a giant aquarium with sharks and rays. If you are tired of the gloss and glitter, visit the historic district of Al Fahidi, where narrow streets and traditional coral stone houses take you back in time. And in the evening, it's worth going to the Dubai Fountain, which puts on an exciting show of water, light and music.

Dubai offers many opportunities for learning Arabic. I signed up for courses at Eton Institute, where classes are held in small groups with experienced teachers. The program was flexible, which is convenient for tourists and busy people. Other language centers, such as the Arabic Language Centre and Berlitz, also offer various levels of instruction — from beginner to advanced. Learning the language helped me better understand the culture and communicate with locals, enriching my experience in Dubai.

Despite its urban appearance, Dubai is surrounded by amazing natural landscapes. The Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve is a protected area where you can see Arabian Oryx, desert foxes, and a variety of birds. I went on a safari through the reserve and was amazed by the beauty of the golden dunes and the silence of the desert. Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary is a wetland reserve located right in the city. It is home to pink flamingos, herons, and other water birds. Special observation platforms allow you to watch the birds without disturbing their peace.
