Yacht trip from Croatia to France

Sailing is not only a way to enjoy the sea, but also an opportunity to discover new horizons. In this article, we will talk about an exciting yacht trip from Croatia to France, which covers many experiences and adventures. The journey lasted 14 days and included 1,100 nautical miles across the Adriatic and Mediterranean Seas.

The beginning of the journey: the city of Split

Our journey began in the picturesque city of Split, Croatia. Here we met with Captain Ivan and prepared the yacht Bavaria 46 for departure. Before leaving the country, we had to complete some legal formalities and fill up the water supplies on board.

Split is not only a port, but also a cultural center where you can enjoy the history and architecture. After completing all the necessary procedures, we left the port and set off, heading for French Marseille.

A trip to the Adriatic Sea

On the second day of our trip, we encountered a lack of wind and decided to move on the engine. The wind was blowing only 5 knots, which did not allow us to use the sails. We enjoyed a lunch consisting of a traditional Croatian dish — kulas, and continued our journey.

At that time, the weather was perfect: sunny and calm. We enjoyed the beautiful views of the Adriatic Sea, as well as chatting with Captain Ivan, who made us Turkish coffee.

Arrival in Italy

Our next stop was in Italy, where we needed to make a stop for refueling and restocking. We arrived at the port of Scalea, where we were able to rest and prepare for the next stage of our journey. Here we also enjoyed the local cuisine and spent time on the beach.

After a short stop, we went out to sea again, heading for the island of Lipari. It was one of the most beautiful stages of our journey, as we could enjoy the magnificent views and tranquility of this place.

Lipari Island

We spent several days on the island of Lipari, waiting for the weather conditions to improve. Despite the bad weather, this place charmed us with its natural beauty and atmosphere. We explored the area, enjoyed the local cuisine and chatted with the locals.

Every day we tried to get out to sea, but the wind and waves did not allow us to continue our journey. In the end, we decided to leave Lipari and head to the next island — Maddalena.

Maddalena Island

The trip to Maddalena Island was eventful. We enjoyed the magnificent sunsets and cooked pizza on board. Despite the fact that the sea was quite calm, we still experienced some difficulties related to the weather conditions.

On Maddalena, we were able to refuel and prepare for the last stage of our journey. We enjoyed the local atmosphere and socializing with other sailors.

The final stage: the way to Marseille

After a short stop at Maddalena, we set off for Marseille. It was an exciting time, as we knew that we would soon reach our destination. We enjoyed the calm sea and good weather, which allowed us to move quickly along the way.
As we approached Marseille, we began to feel excitement. This city with its history and culture was our last stop. We already imagined how we would explore its streets and enjoy the local cuisine.

Arrival in Marseille

Finally, we arrived at the old port of Marseille. It was a moment of triumph — we completed our journey. The city greeted us with its picturesque views, and we were happy to go ashore.

After 14 days at sea, we were full of impressions and memories that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. This journey was not only a physical overcoming, but also a spiritual experience that we will never forget.

Conclusion

Sailing from Croatia to France was a real adventure for us. We learned a lot of new things, met interesting people and enjoyed the beauty of nature. It was an experience that inspires and encourages new achievements. We hope that this trip will inspire you to have your own adventures on the water.
