Pottery is also popular, and in some workshops, you can see how beautiful vessels and decorative elements are born from clay. I was particularly impressed by the art of calligraphy: Arabic letters transform into works of art, decorating homes and public places. Weaving and rug making are another traditional craft, using intricate patterns and natural materials. In Al Fahidi, a historic district, I visited the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, where you can not only see these crafts but also try your hand at them under the guidance of local masters.

Dubai celebrates both religious and national holidays. The UAE National Day, celebrated on December 2nd, is a time of festivities, parades, and fireworks. The city is adorned with flags and lights, and I felt a special atmosphere of unity and pride among the residents. Ramadan is a holy month for Muslims, characterized by fasting and prayers. During this time, many restaurants and cafes are closed during the day but open in the evening for Iftar, the breaking of the fast after sunset. I participated in Iftar and was touched by the hospitality and spirituality of this event. Other holidays include Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, which are accompanied by family gatherings and charitable activities.
